LM5122: LM5122 questions

Part Number: LM5122

Hi sir

pls help check above questions,tks!

(1)11 pin :COMP pin voltage and load current relationship? Is Positive correlation or negative correlation when the COMP voltage stable ?
(2)What is the maximum value of CSP voltage? After the CSP voltage reaches a certain voltage value, will it trigger the overcurrent protection function of the IC?
(3)In the datasheet, when using the interleaved BOOST circuit, the sub-channel FB pin is connected to VCC to connect to the VCC pin of the IC or to a high level. If the high level is connected, what is the voltage requirement?

  • Hi Darren,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions. Please see my responses below.

(1)11 pin :COMP pin voltage and load current relationship? Is Positive correlation or negative correlation when the COMP voltage stable ?
As the load current increases the COMP pin voltage should increase as well.

(2)What is the maximum value of CSP voltage? After the CSP voltage reaches a certain voltage value, will it trigger the overcurrent protection function of the IC?
The CSP pin rated up to 75V (CSP to GND). The CSP to CSN voltage is rated up to 300mV. When the voltage between the CSP and CSN is 75mV the peak current limit is achieved. The LO switching cycle will be terminated after this occurs.

(3)In the datasheet, when using the interleaved BOOST circuit, the sub-channel FB pin is connected to VCC to connect to the VCC pin of the IC or to a high level. If the high level is connected, what is the voltage requirement?

This is specified by the slave mode threshold value in the datasheet. The typical value is 2.7V.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Hi Garrett

Thanks for your summary, for the second two question: If the voltage detection method of the transformer is feasible, as shown below sch of Excel ? pls help check it ,tks!

  • Darren,

I don't recommend using a current sense transformer with the LM5122. If you are looking for lossless current sensing please use DCR current sensing across the inductor.

    Thanks,
