ULN2003A: Clamp diode reverse peak voltage , reverse operation voltage and reverse recovery time for ULN2003A

Part Number: ULN2003A

hi  team,

We want to know the Clamp diode reverse peak voltage , reverse operation voltage and reverse recovery time for ULN2003ADR.

I didn't find this information in ULN2003 datasheet. could you help on it? thanks,

  • Hi Betty,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

The max clamp diode reverse voltage is 50V. Can you clarify what the reverse operation voltage and reverse recovery time are in reference to?

    Thanks,
    Arthur Huang
  • Hi Arthur,

ULN2003A has a common-cathode clamp diodes on each outputs in ULN2003A, so we want to know the reverse-recovery time of clamp diode on ULN2003A output.

    thanks.
  • Hi Betty,

Ultimately, the reverse recovery time of the clamp diode (flyback diode) will be dependent on the magnitude of the inductive ringing. Depending on how much energy is stored in your inductive load (motor, solenoid, relay, etc.), the voltage will increase (V = L * dI / dt). This will cause the diode to become forward biased and give the current a path to flow.

    Thanks,
