LM5170-Q1: 300W Bidirectional 12V-48V DC/DC Converter

Part Number: LM5170-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01168, LM5170

Hi,

Our customer is looking for a 300W Bidirectional, non-isolated 12V-48V DC/DC converter reference design.  I was looking around and found TIDA-01168 but this 2kW design is very complex (requires C2000).  The customer wants to know if we have a simpler 300W solution.  Some additional requirements are reverse polarity blocking and good thermal management.  What is the best device for this design requirement?  Is there a reference design/ collateral that you can link me to?

Application: elevator emergency power supply

  • Hi Kelvin,

Thank you for asking. Our LM5170 EVM is 700W bi-directional, and you can scale the power by using the smaller inductors and MOSFETs. You also need to adjust the voltage loop feedback resistors to set to the regulation voltage level. Please refer to the design tool at the following link to help you.
