Hi All,

The inrush of a complaint af/at PSE last between 50ms to 75ms. I wonder what would happen if the PSE has finished its inrush phase at 50ms ( and C bulk is completely charged) and the PD is still in inrush phase because  IRSHDL_EN is enabled ( PG is still link to RTN, there is no load linked to the PD yet). How the PD is not pulling any current at all, the PSE could cut the power off before the PD completes its inrush phase? or the AMPS_CTL would start working allowing the PD to finish its inrush phase? or PSE needs more time without supplying any current to cut off the power?

    Hi Daniel,

    The PSE will remove power if MPS is not seen for 250ms (for Type 1,2 PSEs) or 310ms (for Type 3,4 PSEs). So even with 80ms delay, a PSE with a low inrush timer will not be an issue. Majority of the time, I see the opposite (no delay or <80ms) to be the issue and the PSE will hiccup.
