LP5912: PG function

Part Number: LP5912

Hello

I want to check If the pull_up voltage of PG could connect to other  supply rather than Vout ?  I 'm used LP5912-1.2, so If  PG pull_up to Vout , the voltage on PG pin is 1.2V after IC start_up, and this 1.2V  PGvoltage is too low for enable my second IC, so I want to pullup LP5912 PG pin to higher voltage such as LP5912's Vin_3.3V

  • Hi Fandy,

Yes, PG is an open-drain output and can be pulled up to any voltage rail up to 6.5 V which is the maximum recommended voltage for PG.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan
so if I pull-up PG to LP5912's Vin rather then Vout, in this condition ,during power up,when Vin less then 1.6V, is PG will be high ?then Vin exceed 1.6V,PG will be low, then Vout reach PGVhth, PG will be High.is right ?
so If I connect PG to Enable pin of second level device ,the second level device could be false enable ? (the second level device's enable threshold is 1.3V)
  • Hi Fandy,

The PG circuit requires some headroom in order to properly function. As such, when Vin is below the minimum recommended Vin, it is possible that the pulldown FET is not fully ON. If this occurs, then you are correct that the PG signal could be logic high.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
