BQ25898: VBUS_STAT state at AUTO_DPDM_EN=0

hello,

our customer asks VBUS_STAT=3'b000 is measured after VBUS plugged in with AUTO_DPDM_EN=0 setting and 3.6V battery voltage. Could you please let us know if VBUS_STAT=3'b000 in this case is correct operation.

Hi,

Yes. When AUTO_DPDM_EN is disabled, the Input Source Type Detection is bypassed. The VBUS_STAT bits can be 000.

Thank you for your answer. According to the datasheet page-18 9.2.3.3 Input Source Type Detection, it says VBUS_STAT bit is unchanged from previous value if AUTO_DPDM_EN is disabled. So I suppose that VBUS_STAT keeps previous value in this case.

Hi,

Before the adaptor is re-plugged in, VBUS_STAT shows 000 (no input). If the adaptor is re-plugged in with AUTO_DPDM_EN=0, VBUS_STAT keeps the previous value 000.

Thank you. We understood VBUS_STAT=000 because no VBUS power is applied before VBUS plugged in, which is VBUS_STAT unchanged by AUTO_DPPM_en=0.
