Hi,

I need to automate the programming of a BQ34100-G1 during a production process. I already have an EV2400 with which I can connect to the BQ34100-G1 using the Battery Management Studio.

I read several posts on the forum that use the bq80xrw.ocx component. Posts suggest to create a kind of wrapper DLL once in a Windows Form Control project to fool AxHost of VisualStuio. However, whenever I want to drag this component to my control in whatever version on whatever OS (VS2005/VS2015/VS2017 on WIN7/WIN10), I get an AccessViolationException.

Posts suggest to install the EV2300DevKitSetup.exe (and optionally the EV2300 Customer Kit to support the EV2400). I can find the latter, but I can't find EV2300DevKitSetup.exe. Could you provide me this file?

Alternatively: Battery Management Studio also ships bq80xrw.dll and bq80xusb.dll etc. Is there any way to use this native DLLs in a C# application?

Hi all,

As follow up I would like to mention that I found the following article: e2e.ti.com/.../540497. It mentions that a bqToolsSDK would exist. That would mean that the ActiveX component isn't required anymore.

Is this SDK available for download?

that's what I had found already too...

The posts in e2e.ti.com/.../306900 mention a download of "EV2300DevKitSetup.exe", but that's not available anymore. Neither is that contained in the customer kit.

Please read my follow up message regarding bqToolsSDK too: where can I find that?

In short: I need an API/SDK which I can use in .NET to program the BQ chips. I keep running against crashes of Visual Studio when I instantiate the OCX component in a Windows Form.

Hi Stephan,

The bqToolsSDK is not available publicly, please consult with your TI sales representative.

A simply way to program the bq device is using Flashstream format with the DFFS (data flash only) or BQFS (instruction and data flash) files provided by bqStudio.

This app note includes example ANSI C code for intepreting the file format (I2C commands), found here: www.ti.com/.../slua801
