Assuming nMR has been pulled low to initiated nRESET to drop low for tRST.

Will the nRESET be 'cancelled' by pulling SET1 low during tRST?

Brian,

No this is not the case. SET1 only disables the watchdog timer, which is already disabled during a reset condition. The device will continue to finish the reset for the tRST delay. This is an interesting use-case. Please feel free to share more information if you need help finding a creative solution!
