Can I use BQ24250C charger IC with USB Type C connector. The CC pins of USB Type C can be used for initial detection, so that host will supply 5V power to Charger IC.

In this approach also current limit will be done by charger IC only like 1 A default. So with DCP ports it will work for 1A and for other SDP ports it will limit current by DPM approach.

    Hi Guruprasad,

    The BQ24250C does not interface with USB Type C adapter. You will have to add a addition circuitry like
    1. two comparators and a reference that drive FETs which change out the ILIM pin resistors OR
    2. TUSB320 and host software for full USB Type C support
