Hi,

I'm having troubles enabling Qmax and Ra update.

After POR I update Chemistry Profile and I set Design Capacity, Design Energy, Terminate Voltage and Taper Rate and disable the SLEEP mode. All other parameters are unchanged.

However Qmax and Ra are never updated, what am I doing wrong?

Control_Status(QMAX_UP) = 0

Control_Status(RES_UP) = 0

Control_Status(RUP_DIS) = 1 - why is it disabled and how to enable it?

Control_Status(VOK) = 0 - when is VOK set?

Control_Status bits are the same during charging and discharging...

    hi
    it could be possible that the chem id hard coded in the gauge is not a good match for your cells. Did you run the gpcchem tool to determine if this gauge is a good fit?

    hi,

    tnx for the answer. No I didn't run the gpchem tool, we have selected the battery and the fuel gauge based on the information found in the datasheet.

    It is a 3.7(4.2)V, 2400mAh Polymer Lithium-ion Battery and according to the TI's datasheet BQ27426 chem ID1202 (4.2V) should do...

    I've left the battery on charger for almost 24h and now

    RUP_DIS == 0 && VOK == 1

    but still no update... now I'm discharging it (again)....

    Hi,

    except the chemistry profile, what else could I check to see why Qmax and Ra are not updated, especially now when RUP_DIS == 0 && VOK == 1 but still no update, during battery charging or discharging..

    A wrong chemistery, using a discharge current not between c/5 and c/10 are few of the many reasons you could not have qmax and ra learning.

    ps run gpcchem to determine if you should be using this gauge at all
