TLV62565: OCP waveform

Hello

we test TLV62565 OCP function and got below waveform. But test another power rail, the output current is not drop at 2.2A but output drop to 0V, While increase load, the output current looks limit 2.2A. There are two different waveform for OCP testing. Which is correct? Thank you.

To better understand the issue, can you kindly provide the two waveforms and the test conditions (Vin, Vout, Iout) as well?

5V to 3.3V /0.6A OCP （TPV62565)

5V to 1.2V /0.5A OCP （TPV62565)

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for providing the waveforms.

The current limit protection triggers at different current level due to the difference in output voltage setting. However, the first test condition (Vin=5V; Vo=3.3V) shows that the converter goes into hiccup mode which was not discuss in the datasheet. I will get back to you in this item soon.

Hi Patrick,

Due to high power dissipation during over load, the device goes into thermal shutdown (Tj = 150deg.C) causing the converter to stop switching and the Vout dropped to zero (see waveform below) and it is not due to hiccup mode. It recovers once the Tj decrease by ~20deg.C. This cycle will continue until current over load is removed.
