CSD19538Q2: Effect on UV light exposure

Part Number: CSD19538Q2

Will this part have effect on UV light exposure? And will the Vgs increase under UV light exposure that causing it hit Vgs(th) and turn on itself? One of our customer product using other manufacturer mosfet and some of the boards having issue with mosfet turned on during UV Conveyor Curing after conformal coating process. Hence we're looking for other alternative mosfet and i found this part might be a good candidate so i would like to know this part have any effect on UV light exposure.

  • Hello SF,
Thanks for the question. We believe the black mold compound will stop any UV light from impacting the silicon but have not specifically tested this.
  • Hello SF,
I wanted to follow up with you on this question. We have consulted with our packaging experts. While we believe that UV light will not impact the silicon, we can guarantee it since we have not tested for this and therefore have no data. There may be the possibility that the UV light will react with the mold compound which may or may not effect the silicon die. Is the competitor part in a plastic package or is it chip scale or wafer scale where the silicon die may be directly exposed to the UV light during the curing process? The only way to be certain that the CSD19538Q2 is not affected would be to test the device in your process.
