TLV62565: negative voltage maximum rating

Part Number: TLV62565

Hello

Below is customer testing waveform of SW to GND. But negative voltage is -2.08V and looks over specification. Could I know this negative voltage meet SW specification and will not damage device? Thank you.

  • Hi Patrick,

The voltage spikes in SW pin can be influence by bonding wire and lead frame of the IC, the trace stray inductance leading to the test point and the test probe technique. Hence, it's possible that the actual voltage on the die itself is much lower.  In addition, the min/max values for the voltage parameter in absolute max ratings table are DC voltage ratings and it should not be the case for your device where the negative voltage spike has limited duration. For more information, you can refer to the attached app note.

    Best regards,
