Question of isolated power product

We are looking for the isolated IC.

AC100V----------PFC----------LLC--------(Isolated)--------DC24V(3.5A) and DC12V(7A)--------

DC output is two.

Do you know the recommended PFC and LLC IC?

And Please tell us the information if you know the recommended device other than LLC.

We emphasize efficiency and small board area.

Please tell us the good point of UCC29950 compared with existing products.

We understand small board area by PFC+LLC.

Does UCC29950 have any other features compared with existing products?

  • UCC29950 is good for your application. Alternatively, UCC28056+UCC256301 can be used, which provides further higher efficiency and lower standby power from transtion mode operation, while UCC29950 provides more compact design along with CCM PFC. In this sense, CCM may be a bit over kill for your 168W design.

    We checked the reference design PMP11303 and TIDA0100038.

    Secondary is 2output(24V and 12V).

    PMP11303 is two output.
    TIDA0100038 is one output.

    Please show the recommended cricuit about two output and board area.

    Can you show the recommended circuit for our condition separately from circuit of these reference design(PMP11303 and TIDA0100038).
    We want to know the customized circuit for our condition such as webench.

  • These two ref designs show the power same or greater than what you need with areas much samller. We do not have a ref design the same as what you need. You need to contact your TI local sales office and request a reference design with specs you have.

    We have questions about reference design TIDA-01557.

    (Question 1)
    The output of this reference design is 1ch(12V).
    But we want set two output(12V/7~7.5A and 24V/3.5~5.5A).
    Standby power is 75mW or 100mW in reference design guide.
    Does standby power increase when the output of secondary change from 1ch(12V) to 2ch(12V and 24V)?
    We must keep standby power below 100mW.


    (Question 2)
    The device of secondary are UCC24612 x 2 , CSD18511Q5A x 2 , TLVH 431A when Vout is 12V.
    But we want to set 2ch output.

    Primary---
    UCC28056---------------UCC256301-------coil

    Secondary---
    12V output : coil-------UCC24612 x 2 , CSD18511Q5A x 2 , TLVH 431A
    24V output : coil-------UCC24612 x 2 , CSD18511Q5A x 2 , TLVH 431A

    We have to set two isolated circuit when we use 2ch output.
    Is this understanding correct?

  • Question 1, the standby power will need to be designed to meet < 100mW. It is difficult to estimate before design but it looks to be a challenge as your design will need to add more SR.

    Question 2, Yes, your understanding is correct. But UCC24612 x 2 can be replaced with UCC24624 x1.
