BQ51003: Receiver coil selection

Hi,

I would like to use a 20 mm diameter receiver coil with bq51003. The transmitter coil I use is WT202030-16M8-G (from TDK with 6.2 uH and 20 mm dia). 

I looked at  TIDA-00318 but could not find the coil used. Can you please send part number of the coil used in TIDA-00318? Also, what are the series and parallel capacitors to be used? Also, what is the max distance between receiver and transmitter coil I can expect the wireless charging to take place (when I use WT202030-16M8-G as transmitter coil and receiver coil used in TIDA-00318).

    Hello

    We used the WR222230-26M8-G from TDK, this is a 27uH coil 22mm round.

    Series and parallel capacitors are calculated based on the coil L which is will change when installed in the case.  27uH is free air value.  See BQ51003 data sheet section 9.2.1.2.2 Series and Parallel Resonant Capacitors Selection for measurement and calculation.

    The max coil to coil distance is hard to predict, 3mm to 6mm is typical.  Key thing to look for is voltage at RECT, must be closer enough to generate voltage above UVLO at RECT, 2.7V.
