BQ24032A: Charge disable from MCU

Hi - The datasheet mentions that the DPPM pin(usually connected to resistor) can be used to disable charging. How can we achieve this with MCU..or do we need external parts? How to implement it?

Hello,

You can do this by having 2 resistors in series on the DPPM pin with the low side resistors being of high value. You can then connect a gpio to the middle point of the 2 resistors. When charging is to be enabled, gpio will be turned on shorting the low side resistor.

Hi - Thanks for the input. I am not sure I completely understood your answer. Does this diagram summarize it?

I am not sure I understand how it will serve the purpose of disabling charging.
