UCC2895: maximum phase shift

Part Number: UCC2895

Dear Team,

please advice the method on how to calculate the maximum phase shift of ucc2895

thanks

  • Hello John

Unfortunately, I don't have a formula for Dmax but I'll try to work one up over the coming days if I other priorities allow. It isn't a difficult calculation and most of the needed information is in the data sheet - the pull down transistors at CT shown in Fig 3 are 200 Ohms each.

I ran some experiments previously looking at Dmax for several different conditions - the results are below.

In general you will get the largest value of Dmax if you use a smaller timing capacitor and a larger timing resistor.

  • Hello John

Actually, reviewing the plots above I think that there is probably enough information regarding Dmax. The power stage is usually run at about 66% duty cycle which is well within the IC capability. If you have a specific application need in mind then please open a new post and I can estimate a Dmax for you.

In the meanwhile I'm going to close it now but please feel free to open a new one if there are any further questions..

    Regards
    Colin
