TPS7A30-49EVM-567: +/- Vin for initial operation

Part Number: TPS7A30-49EVM-567

In the  User's Guide (SLVU405–August 2010) for the board it is recommended, that +/-18V is used for the initial operation. In my application I have a fixed voltage source for Vin of +/-24V which is controlled manually, using a simple switch. Do I risk any danger when starting with +/-24V or what is the reason for the +/-18V recommendation?

Thank you!

  • Hi Stephan,

The User's Guide for TPS7A30-49EVM-567 includes some scopeshots that were taken with the input voltages of +/-18 V.  The initial operation recommendation can be used in conjunction with these scopeshots to help customers familiarize themselves with the EVM.

All of the components on the board are rated for higher voltages which can be verified in the BOM.  As such, you can (and are encouraged) to use the EVM in your early prototype phase of your application under your application conditions.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan,

thank you very much for clarifing this for me!

    best regards
