BQ24725A: bq24725A constant voltage mode

Part Number: BQ24725A

Hi

When bq24725A is in constant voltage  mode, I configured 1.5 A, actually only be around 200mA, but at this time, when I reconfigure the charging current to 1A, the charging current will increase to around 400mA, is it normal?

Waiting for your reply

Thanks

Star

  • Hi Star,

I tested this on a BQ24725A EVM and did not see the behavior that you're describing.

I set VBUS = 20 V, ICHG = 1.536 A, and VREG = 8.4 V. I increased VBAT in CV mode until IBAT tapered down to 200 mA. At this point, I changed the ICHG register setting to 1.024 A, but IBAT stayed constant at 200 mA.

Can you try again using the test procedure I described above? Also, do you have an EVM available that you can test this on?

    Best regards,

    Angelo
