TPS62120: Question about buck device selection

Part Number: TPS62120
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62745, TPS62840, TPS62175

Hi team,

My customer need one buck device, which is used to convert 7.2V supply to 3.6V and its output capability should be greater than 50mA. Now TPS62120 is recommended to customer. Could you please help to check is there any other device which has higher efficiency or lower power consumption? Thanks a lot!

Best Regards

Zhengquan Lu

  • Hi Zhengquan,

We have TPS62745 and TPS62840 which both have lower Iq.  TPS62745 only supports up to 3.3Vout and TPS62840 only supports up to 6.5Vin.  If you need lower Iq, you might rearrange your battery pack and/or load to use these devices.

TPS62175 has lower Iq, if you have an MCU which can activate/deactivate its sleep mode.

Otherwise, TPS62120 is the lowest Iq device.
