CSD17308Q3: Body diode characteristics

Part Number: CSD17308Q3

HI,

Is the body diode Schottky in the CSD17308Q3?

I can hardly find an answer in the datasheet.

Thanks,

Joshua Kim

  • Joshua,

    Thanks for considering our MOSFETs.

The CSD17308Q3 does not have a schottky diode it is the standard body drain diode all MOSFETs have.

If a MOSFET does have a schottky diode, as this take additional processing, manufacturers normally highlight this on the front page of the datasheet as this is not the standard. TI does not offer MOSFETs with integrated schottky diode,

Another way to quickly check if a part has a schottky diode integrated or not is to look at the Vsd of the device. If around 0.5V, then this is likely a schottky diode, if around 0.8-1V then the std mosfet junction diode. Also FETs with schottky diodes have much higher Idss leakage, they will typically have leakage specs in the 0.5mA max vs std FET 1uA , so 500x larger.

    I hope this helps

  • Dear Chris Bull,

Thanks for the answer, which clarified my question altogether.

    Thanks again,
