BQ25570: VOut_EN_P6 tied to VSTOR?

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to troubleshoot a 3rd party's board that uses bq25570 and a solar cell to charge a lithium battery....

I'm comparing their design with a reference design LES100 (BlueTooth Indoor Solar Dev Kit). The ref design has VOut_EN tied to VBAT_OK.

The 3rd party has it VOut_En tied to VSTOR.

Are both acceptable?

Note, we are in the last stages of pre-production and if we can get the charging working correctly we can move to production.

Bob,

Tying VOUT_EN to VSTOR is not recommended as the device may still be in cold start mode. I suggest tying VOUT_EN to VBAT_OK as this will only allow for the buck converter to be activated when the device is out of cold start mode. If VSTOR enables the buck converter in cold start mode, then the device may spend more time in cold start mode.

Does TI offer a complimentary design review? As mentioned the board was designed by a 3rd party but have moved on from the project.
