BQ34Z100: question on residual capacity

Part Number: BQ34Z100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

Good day!

Back in 2013, a device based on the bq34z100 was developed. The device was used with a SAFT BA-685A battery (cells MP176065 - 4s2p). Everything was fine until we changed the battery to a similar one (as it seemed to us).
The new battery is SAFT BA-685B (cells MP176065 xlr - 4s2p). Now the residual capacity graph looks strange. Steps appeared on it. Moreover, this is manifested only at low current (for example, 10mA). That is, at high current (units of amperes) the behavior is more or less adequate, but at low - no.
Can you tell me what this may be connected with? Here are the graphs of battery discharge with a current of 10 mA:

green line - theoretical
blue - chip readings

thank

  • Looking at the battery specs, though the capacity is similar it doesn't appear that the dsg curve is. This is seen by specification of the design voltage and the available capacity at V rating. So, please perform a chem ID match using GPCCHEM and follow that up with a learning cycle on the new battery.
