Boost device recommendation

Hi,

I'm looking for a 5V input, 8.7V/1A output DCDC for the external battery charger circuit.

Cost will be the main concern, and with less external component would be better.

Could you please help to recommend some parts for this?

Hi James,

Suggest you use TPS61089. It is an integrated boost converter.

Hi Helen,

TPS61089 is too expensive for this application.

Do you have other recommendation? controller would be okay too.

Hi James,

TPS61089 is very cheap now. And they can avoid to use the extra diode at the output side.

or they can use TPS61087, but an extra diode is needed.
