TLV702: TLV702 Reverse current

Part Number: TLV702

Hi,

I would like to know if the Irev of the TLV70233 is considering the current through the output resistors.
For example if the input voltage is 0V and the output voltage is 3.3V what will be the total current passing through the output pin.

Best Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke-san,

It is important to note that the TLV702 does not have reverse current protection so if Vin=0V and Vout=3.3V the parasitic body diode between Vout and Vin will turn on and sink current from Vout to Vin. Since this is a parasitic diode which is formed when creating the LDO's pass device this diode is not sized to handle more than 5% of the nominally rated current (15mA).

Below is a screen shot from the PDS discussing this.

As for your question about the size of the resistor divider connected to the output of this device, it varies based on the nominal output voltage but is on the order of several hundred of kOhms to MOhms.
