Battery fuel gauge device type : which chip ?

Hi,

I'd like to find out which fuel gauge chip is mounted in a battery pack.
The device type I read in the chip is 0x4500. The hardware version is 0x0001.

The datasheets and user manuals I've read don't give the values one should read in the chip.
Is there a list of device types somewhere ?

Hi Nicolas,

That id refers to the bq40z50, you will need to send 0x02 to 0x00 to confirm the fw.

What do you mean by "send 0x02 to 0x00" ?

The firmware bytes are 45 00 01 06 00 24 00 03 85 02 00 (in hex format).

Is there a detailed explanation of the meaning of these bytes somewhere ?

Hi Nicolas,

That's a command sent from bqstudio to check the fw version. Please refer to the TRM. If you are using bqstudio just click the fw version command in the commands tab.
