what are default chemistry ID for different chemistry cell

  • Hi Shyam,

There are no default chem IDs for different cells. If you take one of the cells characterized in the chem ID database, then you will get the chem ID associated with it.

  • Hi Batt,

In the document SLUA790 Example-2 of page:7, as attached below is an example of how to change device chemistry value. As I am not using any EVM and BQstudio, changing the default device Chemistry to NiMH using a MCU, Will I be able to Read SOC/RC/FCC of NiMH?

  • Hi Shyam,

No. Changing the device chemistry is not as simple as modifying that string. There are hidden parameters that need to be programmed which update the chemistry OCV and resistance tables. This will not change your chemistry. You need to use the chemistry plugin and GPCCHEM to find a match for your cell and then program the chemistry.

  • Hi Batt,

Is there any document or process other than the need to use the chemistry plugin and GPCCHEM to find a match for the cell and then program the chemistry.

    1. If I have used bqstudio and found a close CHEM ID, where will I enter or program, and change the hidden parameters that needs to be programmed to update the Chemistry OCV and resistance tables.

    2. To Perform the learning cycle do we require CHEM-ID ?

    3. Is it possible to read SOC/RC/FCC without performing learning cycle?

  • Hi Shyam,

Please use the chem ID plugin to program all the chem ID parameters.

You do the learning cycle after chem ID programming and calibration.

Yes, you can read FCC and others without doing the cycle but they will not be accurate.

  • Hi Batt,

If i can read FCC/RC/SOC without performing learning cycle, what are the things apart from calibration of VoltageDivider, design capacity, design  energy, pack configuration. to be changed or the procedure to Read FCC/RC/SOC.

When I read the FCC/RC/SOC, I read Null values.

  • Hi Shyam,

Please read the app notes, and TRM. They explain all these in detail. I apologize for the short reply but we are really stretched for support. We depend on customers using the available documents before approaching us for help.
