TPS7A11: Multiple devices to boost power.

Part Number: TPS7A11

May need just a bit more current than 500mA @3.3V output.

Application is a remote device in automotive/industrial environment that uses a 900MHz Radio that requires 380mA current.  Using one TSP7A11 may be marginal.

Can you connect two TSP7A11s in parallel to boost the output current?

Thanks,

Brad S.

  • Hi Brad,

You can have two LDO in parallel, but you will need to burn additional power through Rblast to balance the voltage difference between the two LDOs. Here is a post that has discussions on this topic that I would suggest to take a look.

    Here is the post link:

If you are flexible with other LDO, I am still recommending to have a single LDO that provides the >500mA instead of two LDOs. The method to have paralleled LDO is normally best for an application that requires higher than 4A of output current.
