TPS51116: PWM ON/OFF time now stable.
Part Number: TPS51116
We are using the TPS51116 with two external FETs with a VGS rating of +/-20V; the proposed is +/-12V.
It seems like the DRVH is set in relation to VBST and configures the source voltage for the high-side FET. Our VIN is 5V, can you determine what the voltage will be at the source of the FET (LL pin)?
LL pin is connected to switch node.
The boot cap voltage (the voltage between VBST and LL pin) will be used for high-side gate drive.
The boot cap voltage is V5IN voltage minus 0.8V.
You may need to consider external FET with lower Vgs threshold.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.
