Question) Is there anything wrong in using a dual low-side driver to drive a 1:1:1 gate drive transformer connected to the gates of the switches as shown in the sketch below?

    Yes it is possible to design a gate drive transformer circuit such as shown in your sketch.

    SLUA618A is a detailed application document on this subject and you will find it here:

    Section 7 details the issues and challenges on transformer coupled gate drives

    However this question is more related to the UCC27324 driver ic than to the UCC28070 pfc ic.

    So I cannot provide the insight that an applications engineer from the drivers team than provide for you.

    I suggest that you close this post and open a new post referencing the UCC27324 if you have further questions.
