BQ76PL455A-Q1: Selection of VREF pin decoupling capacitor for BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Does the external capacitance of BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1 Vref have to be 1.8uF? This 1.8u capacitor is very skewed and very difficult to purchase. Please confirm whether 2.2 or 1U can be used instead. Thank you

In addition, I looked at TI's information that this capacitor can't exceed 2uF? What would be the problem if 2.2u capacitors were used? Thank you

  • Hi Jace,

We cannot recommend beyond 2uF as the reference document suggests in order to meet device specs, however if you are willing to do characterization with a different value then that is up to you to see device performance.
