LMR14030: Error scenarios for LMR14030

Hello,

We are using LMR14030SDDAR in our design for generating 4.3V.

Could you please provide your feedback on the below two queries on LMR14030SDDAR related to the FMEA (Open point during the review with OEM).

  1. What is the error scenario when the Rfbt is open. How much will be the output voltage?
  2. What is the error scenario when RT is open

     See answers below:

    1. When the Rfbt is open,   the output voltage is related to Vin and maximum duty cycle.  The value will be 97%Vin. 
    2. The RT/SYNC pin can’t be left floating or shorted to ground. If you do that, IC will not work.

    Hi Sandeep,

    1. When the Rfbt is open,   the output voltage is 97%Vin. 
    2. When the RT/SYNC pin is open, IC will not work, no Vo, no switch.

           You can test the error condition using our EVM or your PCB board, it is easy to observe the conclusion.
