LM25118-Q1: DCDC load current

Part Number: LM25118-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25118

Dear expert:

Can you find Fig.9 of LM25118Q1 spec please? My question is that: "my load current is only 0.2A or 0.6A, could I use this schematic for my design?"

Moreover, what does "Minimum load current(CCM operation)=600mA" means in Chapter 8.2.1?

Thanks a lot!

  • Hello Lin,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions and for considering the LM25118.

The typical application circuit can be used for and number of load currents. I suggest using the LM25118 quick-start calculator to help with component calculations.

Section 8.2.1 is referring to the minimum load current that keeps the controller operating in continuous conduction mode. If the load is less than this the controller will operate in discontinuous conduction mode.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
