LM25118-Q1: High-state output voltage range of Pin LO & Pin HO

Part Number: LM25118-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25118

Dear expert:

Can you kindly help confirming high-state output voltage range of Pin LO & Pin HO, please?

Moreover, what does parameter Vohh of SPEC EC table means? Thanks!

  • Hi Lin,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions and for using the LM25118.

The gate driver output voltage will be the approximately the same voltage as the VCC pin voltage. Typically this will be 7V.

The two parameters that you are referencing are the measuring the pull up resistance and pull down resistance for the gate driver. This is calculated by taking the specified voltage drop and dividing it by the test current of 100mA.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Garrett

  • Dear Garrett

Whether pin LO can be used to switch 3.5V-Vgsth MOSFET please?
HO is about 7V higher than HS when HS-FET is on, right?  And what should the following 3V be understood?

  • Lin,

The LM25118 can be used to drive a MOSFET with a gate threshold of 3.5V assuming the VCC pin voltage is regulated to 7V. Note that at low input voltages the VCC voltage will follow VIN per figure 3 of the datasheet.

The HB-HS undervoltage lockout specification keeps the high-side driver from switching when the boot-strap capacitor voltage is less then 3V. This helps to insure the MOSFET is completely enhanced when switching occurs.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
