Good day!!

May I have some confirming item for TPS40422 PMBUS interface application ?

We can not found any PMBUS in our MB (Chip ,....),But ,We have found SMBUS interface .

We want to know ,Can we connect SMBUS to TPS40422 PMBUS interface ?

If could ,would you have any advice for "How to select SMBUS for connect to TPS40422 PMBUS interface"

(Becasue we don't know what kind of SMBUS can connect to TPS40422 PMBUS interface)

<ex:We need select "Master type SMBUS ,Slave Type SMBUS" ,We need select "2 pin type SMBUS(SCL ,SDA) ,3 pin Type SMBUS (SCL ,SDA,Alert) ,SMBUS version,.....

....any other select item need to confirming" >

Hi Alex,

TPS40422 is a PMBus device. There is some difference between SMBus and PMBus. I'm not sure if you can use SMBus host for TPS40422.

Can you use TI fusion and USB adapter to communicate with TPS40422?

May I double confirming regarding TPS40422 PMBUS interface ,Could we only connect pin 12 and pin 11 (CLK,DATA) to Host ?

(Change another word: Could we connect to Host without pin 13 ? <TPS40422 pin 13 NC> )

(Have any side effect or cause some function didn't work ? )

Would you have any advice ?

The pin 13 is "necessary" pin or "Optional" pin connect to Host ?

Hi Alex,

Only pin 11 and 12 are needed for PMBus communication.

Pin13 is optional.
