BQ78350-R1: How to write SREC

Hello TI Guys,

I have a product with a bq78350-R1 fuel gauge with FW V1.03. We need to start shipping product with firmware V1.04. The utilities in bqStudio require operation the operator to click through several layers and buttons, making this impractical for this purpose. I understand that the flashstream files are not supported for this product, so writing the SREC is the only option.

Writing the data flash part of the SREC (4000~4FFF) is straight-forward. However, I am stumped writing the firmware part.

1. Does TI have a solution that writes the entire SREC to a bq78350-R1 with minimal operator intervention?

2. Is the documentation on how to write the entire SREC to a device?

3. What is the best solution for this?

Thanks, Steven, but this does not answer the question.

The release for BQ HI-PRODUCTION includes 1E9B_1_03-bq78350_R1.bqz file, but does not give the option to select it. What's more, I have not been able get the Start Test button to turn active.

More to my point, I am looking for a solution that can be integrated into existing test software to write the entire SREC. In the old days, we would write the ROM file. A Flashstream file would be ideal, but my understanding this format cannot be generated for this device. The solution be best if it didn't require any operator interaction. Either executable, or a DLL reference, or something that can be integrated in LabVIEW, VB or similar applications, is needed.

I will send you a private message.

I will send you a version of BQ HI-PRODUCTION that does work with the BQ78350-R1, but this software is a little slow at loading an srec.

I also will send you a Python program I've made. It is not production-ready software, but a good example for reference. It generates an output file with the exact sequence of steps for writing the srec. It also can be used to program the srec directly using an EV2400.
