Why do LP8758 need an extra POL capacitor? Is it a necessary?

    Hi, Sammi,

      It's not necessary; it's only needed when load needs better power supply performance; like lower ripple which is mainly caused by the IR drop between load and the PMIC output; also, the CPOL can improves the load step behavior and decreases the PFM switching frequency.
