TPS92602-Q1: Buck-To-Battery OVP

Hi Champs,

A customer is using the device in Buck to Battery typology and was wondering if there is no possibility to use the OVP?

Figure 11 shows no voltage divider for for buck-to-battery. Or is there no need for the OVP in this typology?

Do we have a reference design for a buck to battery with this device?

Could you tell me your customer's application and why they want to use Buck to Battery mode.

Hi Frank,

I will use the buck-to-battery because of more than 10% less power loss.

Is it not recommended to use buck-to-Battery? Why is it mentioned in the datasheet?

I just want to know why you want to use this topoloy.I guess in your application , LEDs in one string is less than 3.So you choose Buck to battery.

Yes I just use 2 LEDs in this string. Vfmax will be 7V. This will be the reason, why I use Buck to battery:
