BQ24193: Correct to understand that an adapter can be connected while disabling the BATFET for shipping mode?

Part Number: BQ24193

Hi,

BQ24193 has a shipping mode where the BATFET is turned off to reduce the effect of leakage currents discharging the battery.

The datasheet describes what registers to set (including disabling the watchdog timer), and also that the BATFET can be turned on again by attaching the adapter. But is it correct to assume that the adapter can be attached also while disabling the BATFET (and the watchdog timer), to avoid that the host MCU powered by SYS dies? That the MCU can program the related registers over I2C while still being powered from VBUS > SYS, and then lose its power first when the adapter is afterwards disconnected.

Thanks!
