UCC27714: Can we power UCC27714 HB to HS with dedicated power supply?

Hi,

in our datasheet typical applications, bootstrap circuit is used to power HB, 

I want to confirm that I can use dedicated power to power between HB and HS instead of boostrap diode and capacitor, right?

    Hi Howard, 

    Thanks for your help promoting our devices.

    You can in fact use dedicated isolated foating supply to provide bias to HB-HS pin so long as the biased voltage is within the recommended operating conditions of the pin. This is common in the case of high duty cycle operations where the high side gate must be maintained above the HB-HS UVLO threshold. 

    We have used in the past SN6501 + transformer to achieve as shown below.
