I want to design a charger. The output power is about 800W and the efficiency is more than 90%. Could you please recommend a suitable chip for me? And the suitable structure?

Hi Kevin,

Can you give me a bit more information about your application ?

Is the input voltage Ac or DC ? What is the input voltage range. If it is AC do you need power factor correction ?

What is the output voltage range and current ?

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your quick response.

The input voltage is AC 180~265V, the output voltage is DC 70~85V and the output current is 10A. Could you please recommend a suitable chip or reference design？

Hi Kevin,

Normally this would be a two stage design, a PFC stage + a dc/dc isolation stage.

For the PFC stage we would recommend the UCC28180 CCM PFC controller,

For the DC/DC isolation stage you can look at the UCC28951 phase shifted full bridge or an LLC resonant half bridge, using UCC25630x family of devices.
