Hi, team

In general, any filters are required to add between PD output and DCDC?

I guess it depends on the system requirements, but I would like to understand when filters are required in general.

For example, looking at TIDA-01463, it seems that there is a filter between TPS2372 and LM5165.

    Hi Takahashi-san,

    The IEEE standard for PoE has a max input ripple spec. Since the bulk cap is after PD and the ripple will come from the DCDC, an inductor is placed in series to filter this out. It is recommended to use similar filter we use on the EVMs and reference designs that have the PD with the DCDC converter.
