LM46002: Negative supply

Part Number: LM46002

Dear Frank, thank you.

Excuse me of my persistence.

I read snva722b Application Report.

1) LM46002 can supply minus 15 V output,  if input voltage is 15 V and more.

But the input voltage may be slightly less, than 15 V, for example 14.5 V. And then LM46002 will not supply minus 15 V? And what will be at the output?  14.5V?

2) Can I use two layer PCB for LM46002 ?  Or 4 layer only?

TIA

  • When using the LM46002 as an inverting, it can both buck and boost.  So you can have +14.5Vin and -15Vout.

You can use a two layer board with this device.  You will need to use the bottom as a ground plane and have enough

copper area to dissipate the heat.

You can get a TI EVM and test you application.
