TPS62173: Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) for Several Parts

I will search for data on TPS62173 next week.  For the other parts, you will need to make separate posts.  They are not supported by BSR-MV.  And just FYI, I doubt that data will be readily available.

I have made similar requests for CTE data from the E2E before, and they have always been supported very well.  Here's an example: https://e2e.ti.com/support/amplifiers/f/14/t/789140.

All the parts in the example are typical leaded, plastic-encapsulated parts.  The gentleman who addressed that request contacted me via e-mail and told me that he'd expect similar CTEs for other TI leaded, plastic-encapsulated parts, but that I should ask again if I had any  parts that did not fit that description.  (He then went on to help me find the CTEs of a couple of parts that did not fit that description.)

All the parts that I am asking about here are non-leaded.

I would be happy to make separate posts for the other 2 parts, but can you please help me figure out where I should post them?  I would have thought that a voltage regulator and a DC/DC converter would be considered "power management", and I do not see another category in the forums that seems to fit them.

I found a post that pointed me towards submitting a support ticket.  I did that and now let's see what happens.

You can post the others to the same power management forum.  When you insert the part number int the part number field, the forum engine automatically assigns it to the correct sub group  Each applications organization monitors their individual sub groups, so a linear regulator apps person would never see this post.  I support TPS62173, so this post was flagged for me alone.

Upon further checking, CTE is only provided for automotive devices. This is a commercial device. 
I have checked and there is no equivalent automotive part for TPS62173DSGT. 

I am not sure why TI does not provide CTE data on commercial devices.

This is surprising to me, since I have asked for CTE data on the e2e forums many times, for many non-automotive parts, and I have always received an answer.

Thanks for checking.  I guess the "why" doesn't matter to me that much, but I am curious so I'll leave this thread open.  If you don't get any response and need to close it, though, that's fine.

What's odd to me is that I submitted requests for CTE data for 8 other parts at the same time I sent this to you.  All of the others either have sent me the information, are in the process of obtaining it, or in 1 case they need something specific from me before they can respond.  You are the only one telling me that T.I. does not provide this information.

Still, I can anticipate the response if you go back to that same guy.

I'm quite frustrated by this.  T.I. doesn't seem to have a consistent policy.  It seems to depend on who I ask.
