TPS546C23: Data Logging Error when monitoring with fusion digital Power Designer

Part Number: TPS546C23
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM846C23

Hi,

I am currently having some issues when i try to log the data from my TPS546C23 with fusion digital power designer. When i start the data logging to register to a file, i have that error message, and i can't do anything about it. I think the automatically generated name have a problem with / and \.

I am using the latest version available on your website  of fusion digital power designer (7.1.1).

Regards,

Yohann

  • Hi Yohann,

We are looking into this and will get back to you by COB on Wednesday.

  • Fusion is reporting that it can not find the selected file to write the catalog to.

First, check the file location and make sure you have write access to that location.

Second, try a directory and file name that does not contain periods ( . ) as these may be confusing the directory access routine used by the GUI.

  • I've understood that there is an issue with the file name/directory, but as indicated in the Data Logging page the directory and file name cannot be changed and are generated automatically.

My component is a TPS546C23, but is identified as a TPSM846C23/TPS546C23 in fusion digital. And windows do not allow the "/" in a file name or directory name.

is there somewhere in the application a way to change the directory name / File name ?

  • The directory used is selected in the window above under "Options"  by the file name is automatically generated, and it looks like that might be the root of your issue with the forward-slash in the part number creating an invalid file name that looks to windows like a sub-directory under the datalogging directory.  Unfortunately, the text prior to the forward slash is not deterministic, as it contains the date and time of the datalog.

Let me check to see if there is a way within the project to change the string that is used for the automatic file name generation.

We have confirmed the issue and were able to intersect an existing FUSION release update that was in-progress.  The part-number name used for the TPS546C23 and TPSM846C23 will replace the forward-slash (/) with an under-score(_) to address the invalid file-name / director folder error.

The updated FUSION release should be available by the end of the month.
