TPS61040: Component value selection for 12.4533V/45mA output to power OLED.

Hi team,

We need your help with the design application of our customer in using TPS61040.
The customer would like to use TPS61040 with the following parameters:
Vin= 3.3V
Vout= 12.4533V
Iout= 45mA

The nearest schematic example for the customer's design is Figure 19 shown on page 17 of the datasheet below:

The customer will be using R1= 910k and R2=100k

We would like to get your input for the proper inductor and capacitor values to use to get the 12.4533V/45mA output.

Hi Jonathan,

This schematic matches customer's application well. The recommended inductance 6.8uH and capacitor value 4.7uF is good.

By the way, how can we assure the current output to be 45mA?

Sorry, we don't have a way to simulate this design here in the support center to confirm the 45mA output current.
This is to give some assurance to the customer.

Sorry I just checked it with TPS61040 Worksheet Software Tool: https://www.ti.com/product/TPS61040/toolssoftware

The 45mA output current is quite marginal if considering the current limit minimum spec 350mA. The promised output current is 35mA-40mA.

Please consider use TLV61046A or TLV61048.
