LM2587: figuring out the correct passive components to make the device provide boost for project

Hi there, I want to use this chip for two different purposes. 1) to boost a 15V to a 24V and provide atlast 3A of current and another to 2) regulator 15V at 4A or more amps. I am confused on how to go about picking these passive pieces. can someone point me in the direction for how to go about doing this?

Hi Brittany,

for 24v 3A output, the input current should be at least 5.5A, which is higher than the capability of LM2587. i would suggest a controller TPS43061 for such application.

Thank you for your input jasper! I decided to go with the TPS54560B , also where on the datasheet does it show for the tps43061 can handle enough input current? hopefully it will be ok
