Part Number: TPS720-Q1
My customer is using TPS72029 as follows.
Vout = 2.9V
Iout(max) = 100mA.
They also plan to put 5V for VBIAS pin and plan to get the 5V from 12V using a shunt regulator.
But, in order to that, they would like to know maximum VBIAS current to design the shunt regulator.
Could you tell my customer the maximum VBIAS current in their use case, please?
The VBIAS rail only draws a very low current ( on the order of the quiescent current of the LDO). Unfortunately, we do not have a specification on the max for this current. For this device, the quiescent current is 38uA typically. I would suggest setting the shunt regulator to at least provide 100uA or higher current.
