LM5117-Q1: Paralleling of two DC-DC Converter

Part Number: LM5117-Q1

Hi,

This is regarding LM5117Q1 synchronous buck controller that we are using in one of our product Dc-DC Converter which converts 24V to 12V and has max load capacity of 20A (240W). One of the requirement that we have got from our customer is to parallel two DC-DC converter product in order to support 400W Power without changing anything in the board. Since we can not sync this two board we have observed that the current distribution is not equal when we parallel two DC-DC converter. Since the peak current limit set in out design is 21.88A by calculation, it turns off the output and goes into hiccup mode when any of the two parallel DC-DC converter exceed this peak limit. Please let us know if there any risk in paralleling two product without making there clock in sync. I have attached test report with this mail for your reference. Paralleling of DC-Dc.xlsx
