BQ24195: Problem BQ24195 Default Mode (without HOST mode).

Dear TI,

I have working with BQ24195 with following configuration, Here attached my Circuit, I am using Default Mode (without HOST mode).

From my circuit I did not use USB charging, so I have removed that section

I have short D+ & D- through R74, i did not install I2C pull-up(R76,R78) and Interrupt pull-up(R273).

I have not using OTG features so that pin directly connected to ground (through R280 0R) and CE pin also directly connected to ground(through ).

ILIM pin connected with 330R ( R282 ).

TS1 and TS2 shorted through (R274 and R276), R277 (5.23K ), R283 (30.1K).

I have above but STAT pin continuously blinking 1Hz.

Kindly Let me know if i made any mistake.

Is this ok for without host mode and how to debug this.

Hello,

You can use this charger without host mode, but it will not be able to provide status feedback except through the STAT pin blinking at 1Hz.

Two things however I noted:

1) There is a significant amount of capacitance on the SYS output (~270uF). I feel may be a little high for this device, which typically requires a minimum of 20uF of MLCC capacitance. I would consider reducing this down some (maybe to 200uF at most) and make sure it is MLCC capacitance (not tantalum or electrolytic).

2) The TS resistor divider network needs to be between the VLTF spec and the VTCO spec in the datasheet EC table in order for charging to work normally. Please correct this. Normally, a parallel thermistor from the battery is added to this node to put the charger in a TNORMAL condition.

Dear Sir,

BQ24195 working well, I have another doubt, in some cases I don't use battery with BQ24195, how to disable battery feature or how to run BQ24195 with out battery.

Hello,

You can disable charge (either via I2C or the external /CE bit). In that case, the buck converter will regulate VSYS to VSYSMIN. Keep in mind that this charger does not detect the presence of a battery. You will need to determine that some other way.

Dear TI,

Now i have some problem with BQ24195, As per my schematic i have connect 10K POT across to R283(30.1K) adjust the POT to voltage, between the VLTF spec and the VTCO spec , it is working some minutes only, after some minutes STAT LED blinking.
